Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups short pasta (such as penne or fusilli) cooked al dente
  • 1 pound ground beef preferably 80/20 for flavor
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 cup plain yogurt preferably whole milk for creaminess
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for sautéing
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes adjust to taste
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 cup chopped parsley for garnish
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil and cook the short pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  • In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Then, add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula, about 5-7 minutes.
  • Season the cooked beef with cumin, paprika, red pepper flakes, salt, and pepper. Stir well and let it simmer for another 3-4 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked pasta with the beef mixture. Toss to combine thoroughly and ensure the pasta is well coated with the sauce.
  • To serve, place the pasta on plates and top each portion with a generous dollop of plain yogurt. Garnish with chopped parsley for a fresh finish.

Tip 1: For extra flavor, consider adding a squeeze of lemon juice over the yogurt before serving.
