Ingredients

  • 4 shots espresso freshly brewed
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract pure
  • 1 tablespoon toasted vanilla bean paste for added flavor
  • 2 cups milk whole or any milk alternative
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup adjust for sweetness
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon optional for garnish
  • 1 cup ice cubes for shaking
  • whipped cream for topping

Instructions

  • Brew 4 shots of espresso using your preferred method, ensuring it's strong and fresh. Allow to cool slightly before using.
  • In a shaker, combine the brewed espresso, vanilla extract, toasted vanilla bean paste, simple syrup, and ice cubes. Seal the shaker tightly.
  • Shake vigorously for about 20-30 seconds until well mixed and frothy. The shaking will chill the espresso and create a creamy texture.
  • Pour the shaken espresso mixture into tall glasses filled with ice, leaving some space at the top.
  • Top each glass with milk to your desired creaminess and gently stir to combine. Optionally sprinkle cinnamon on top.
  • Finish with a dollop of whipped cream and a drizzle of additional vanilla if desired. Serve immediately.

Notes

Tip 1: Use cold espresso to prevent dilution from melting ice.
Tip 2: This drink can be made ahead; just store the espresso mixture in the fridge and shake before serving.
Variation: Add a splash of flavored syrup, such as caramel or hazelnut, for a different twist.
