Ingredients

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon ground cinnamon

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ cup sour cream

¼ cup whole milk

For the cinnamon-sugar topping:

¼ cup granulated sugar

1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with paper liners or grease it well.

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and ground cinnamon. Set aside.

In a separate large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy, about 3-4 minutes.

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then, stir in the vanilla extract.

Mix in the sour cream and whole milk until fully incorporated into the wet mixture.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. Be careful not to overmix.

Spoon the batter into the prepared muffin tin, filling each cup about 2/3 full.

In a small bowl, combine the granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the topping. Sprinkle the mixture generously over the muffin batter.

Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

Allow the muffins to cool in the pan for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
