Ingredients

  • 2 cups ripe guava puree made by blending ripe guavas
  • 1 cup fresh mint leaves lightly packed
  • 1/2 cup fresh lime juice about 4 limes
  • 2 tablespoons agave syrup or honey to taste
  • 2 cups sparkling water chilled
  • 1 cup ice cubes for serving
  • 4 lime wedges for garnish
  • 4 mint sprigs for garnish

Instructions

  • Start by preparing the guava puree. Peel and chop ripe guavas, then blend them in a blender until smooth. Strain through a fine mesh sieve to remove any seeds or pulp, yielding about 2 cups of guava puree.
  • In a large pitcher, combine the fresh mint leaves and agave syrup. Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to gently crush the mint leaves, releasing their essential oils. Be careful not to shred them into tiny pieces.
  • Add the guava puree and fresh lime juice to the pitcher. Stir well to combine all the ingredients, ensuring that the mint is evenly distributed throughout.
  • Slowly pour in the chilled sparkling water, stirring gently to maintain the carbonation. Taste the mixture and adjust the sweetness with additional agave syrup if desired.
  • To serve, fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the guava mint mixture over the ice. Garnish each glass with a lime wedge and a sprig of mint for a refreshing touch.

Notes

Tip 1: For an extra flavor boost, add a splash of coconut water to the mocktail mix.
Tip 2: This mocktail can be prepared ahead of time; just add sparkling water right before serving to keep it fizzy.
Variation: For a tropical twist, substitute guava with mango and add a dash of coconut cream.
