Ingredients

1 lb ground lamb

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1 tsp fresh mint, finely chopped

1 tsp ground cumin

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp black pepper

1/4 cup breadcrumbs

1 egg, beaten

1 tbsp olive oil

4 whole wheat burger buns

1 cup arugula or mixed greens

1/2 cup feta cheese, crumbled

1/4 cup tzatziki sauce

Slices of tomato and red onion for serving

Instructions

In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb, minced garlic, rosemary, mint, cumin, salt, black pepper, breadcrumbs, and beaten egg. Mix with your hands until well incorporated but do not overwork the mixture.

Divide the lamb mixture into four equal portions and shape each into a patty. Make a slight indentation in the center of each patty to prevent puffing during cooking.

Preheat your grill over medium-high heat and brush the grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.

Place the lamb patties on the grill and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side, or until they reach an internal temperature of 160°F (71°C) and have nice grill marks.

During the last minute of cooking, place the burger buns on the grill cut side down to toast lightly.

Once cooked, remove the patties and buns from the grill. Assemble the burgers by placing a patty on each bun, topping with arugula, crumbled feta, a generous dollop of tzatziki sauce, and slices of tomato and red onion.

Serve immediately, and enjoy your delicious grilled lamb burgers!
