Greek Yogurt Bagels

This greek yogurt bagels is a simple breakfast recipe made with everyday ingredients. Perfect for busy days and family meals.

Ingredients

1 cup plain Greek yogurt

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour (plus extra for dusting)

1 teaspoon baking powder

½ teaspoon baking soda

½ teaspoon salt

1 large egg (for egg wash)

Optional toppings: sesame seeds, poppy seeds, or everything seasoning

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Mix Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 ½ cups of flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Stir until well combined.

Add Yogurt: Add the Greek yogurt to the dry ingredients. Use a spatula or your hands to blend until a shaggy dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a floured surface and gently knead it for about 1-2 minutes, just until it comes together. Avoid overworking the dough.

Shape the Bagels: Divide the dough into 4 equal portions. Roll each piece into a rope about 8-10 inches long. Pinch the ends of each rope together to form a bagel shape.

Prepare the Egg Wash: In a small bowl, beat the egg to create an egg wash. Brush the tops of each bagel with the egg wash.

Add Toppings: If desired, sprinkle your choice of toppings (sesame seeds, poppy seeds, etc.) over the bagels.

Bake: Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the bagels are golden brown.

Cool: Remove from the oven and let cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prep Time: 15 minutes | Total Time: 40 minutes | Servings: 4 bagels
