Crockpot French Dip Sandwiches

This crockpot french dip sandwiches is a simple dinner recipe made with everyday ingredients. Perfect for busy days and family meals.

Ingredients
  

2-3 lbs beef chuck roast

1 cup beef broth

1 cup French onion soup (canned or homemade)

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon dried thyme

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 onion, sliced

4-6 hoagie rolls or French baguettes

Sliced provolone cheese (optional)

Freshly cracked black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Roast: Season the beef chuck roast all over with black pepper, and if desired, salt. Place it into the crockpot.

    Make the Broth Mixture: In a bowl, combine the beef broth, French onion soup, soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, dried thyme, and garlic powder. Mix well to incorporate all ingredients.

      Add the Onions: Scatter the sliced onion on top of the roast in the crockpot, then pour the broth mixture evenly over the roast.

        Slow Cook the Roast: Cover the crockpot and set it to low. Cook the roast for 8-10 hours or until it’s fork-tender.

          Shred the Meat: Once cooked, remove the roast from the crockpot and let it rest for a few minutes. Shred the meat using two forks, discarding any large pieces of fat.

            Prepare the Sandwiches: If desired, place the sliced hoagie rolls or baguettes under the broiler for a minute or two to toast them lightly. On each roll, layer generous amounts of shredded beef and top with provolone cheese.

              Serve the Au Jus: Strain and reserve the broth left in the crockpot as a dipping sauce (au jus). Serve each sandwich with a small bowl of au jus on the side for dipping.

                Garnish and Enjoy: Sprinkle chopped parsley on top of the sandwiches for a fresh touch, and serve immediately with chips or a salad on the side.
