12 ounces fettuccine or spaghetti

2 tablespoons olive oil

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

1 cup grated Parmesan cheese

For the Garlic Butter Chicken:

2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

2 cloves garlic, minced

Salt and pepper to taste

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

Fresh lemon juice (from half a lemon)

Instructions
 

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine or spaghetti and cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1 cup of pasta water, then drain and set aside.

    Prepare the Chicken: While the pasta cooks, season the chicken breasts with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning on both sides. In a large skillet, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat.

      Sauté the Chicken: Add the seasoned chicken to the skillet and cook for about 7-8 minutes on each side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes before slicing it into strips.

        Make the Creamy Sauce: In the same skillet used for the chicken, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. When melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds, until fragrant. Pour in the heavy cream, stirring well to combine.

          Add Parmesan: Gradually whisk in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is creamy. If the sauce is too thick, add the reserved pasta water a little at a time until you reach your desired consistency. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

            Combine Pasta and Sauce: Add the drained pasta to the skillet, tossing it in the creamy sauce to coat evenly. Add the sliced chicken to the pasta, gently mixing everything together.
