Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

1 cup heavy cream

Zest of 2 lemons

1/4 cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

1 teaspoon Dijon mustard

1/2 cup chicken broth

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Lemon slices (for garnish)

Instructions

Prepare the Chicken: Season the chicken breasts with garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Ensure all sides are well-coated.

Sear the Chicken: In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and sear for about 5-7 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove the chicken from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Creamy Lemon Sauce: In the same skillet, reduce the heat to medium, and add the chicken broth. Scrape the bottom of the skillet to deglaze, incorporating all the flavor bits. Allow it to simmer for 2-3 minutes.

Add Cream and Lemon: Stir in the heavy cream, lemon juice, lemon zest, and Dijon mustard. Mix well, bringing the sauce to a gentle simmer for about 4-5 minutes until it thickens slightly.

Combine Chicken and Sauce: Return the seared chicken breasts to the skillet, spooning the creamy lemon sauce over them. Allow the chicken to cook in the sauce for an additional 2-3 minutes to absorb the flavors.

Garnish and Serve: Plate the chicken, drizzling extra sauce on top. Garnish with chopped parsley and lemon slices. Serve hot alongside steamed vegetables or over a bed of fluffy rice.
