Ingredients

For the Choux Pastry:

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsalted butter

1 cup water

4 large eggs

1/4 teaspoon salt

For the Cream Filling:

2 cups heavy whipping cream

1/2 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For the Chocolate Ganache:

1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

1/2 cup heavy cream

For Garnish:

Additional powdered sugar (for dusting)

Fresh berries (optional)

Instructions

Prepare the Choux Pastry:

    - Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

      - In a medium saucepan, combine the water, butter, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat.

        - Once boiling, remove from heat and quickly add the flour, stirring vigorously until the dough forms a ball and pulls away from the sides of the pan.

          - Let the dough cool for about 5 minutes. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition until fully combined and smooth.

            - Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a large round tip. Pipe circles or dots onto the prepared baking sheet, about 2 inches apart.

              - Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until puffed and golden brown. Allow to cool completely on a wire rack.

                Prepare the Cream Filling:

                  - In a large mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream until it begins to thicken. Gradually add the powdered sugar and vanilla extract. Continue whipping until stiff peaks form.

                    - Carefully fill each cooled cream puff shell with the whipped cream using a piping bag or a small spoon.

                      Make the Chocolate Ganache:

                        - In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the chocolate chips and heavy cream. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

                          - Let the ganache cool slightly until it thickens but remains pourable.

                            Assemble the Cake:

                              - Arrange the filled cream puffs in a circular or layered pattern on a serving plate to create a cake shape.

                                - Drizzle the chocolate ganache over the top, allowing it to drizzle down the sides.

                                  - Dust lightly with powdered sugar and garnish with fresh berries, if desired.

                                    Serve and Enjoy:

                                      - Slice into sections to serve and enjoy the delightful layers of cream and chocolate!
