Ingredients

1 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 tsp baking powder

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup granulated sugar

2 large eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1/2 cup powdered sugar (for dusting)

Instructions

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.

Beat in the eggs one at a time, followed by the vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined. The dough will be thick and slightly sticky.

Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes to make it easier to handle.

After chilling, use a tablespoon to scoop out portions of the dough and roll them into balls.

Roll each ball in powdered sugar until thoroughly coated, then place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are set and the tops have crinkled.

Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Prep Time: 30 minutes | Total Time: 1 hour | Servings: 24 cookies
