Ingredients

1 lb ground beef

1 medium onion, diced

2 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp Worcestershire sauce

Salt and pepper to taste

10 oz refrigerated pie crust (2 crusts)

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

1/2 cup dill pickles, chopped

1/4 cup ketchup

1/4 cup mustard

2 large eggs

1/2 cup milk

Sesame seeds for topping (optional)

Fresh lettuce and tomato slices for garnish

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Cook the Beef Mixture: In a large skillet over medium heat, add the ground beef, diced onion, and minced garlic. Cook until the beef is browned and the onions are translucent, about 5-7 minutes. Stir in Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Drain any excess fat.

Prepare the Pie Crust: Roll out one of the pie crusts and line a 9-inch springform pan, pressing it into the bottom and up the sides. Trim any excess.

Layer the Filling: Spread half of the cooked beef mixture evenly over the crust, followed by a layer of half of the cheeses, pickles, ketchup, and mustard. Repeat with the remaining beef, cheeses, pickles, ketchup, and mustard.

Final Layer: Roll out the second pie crust and place it over the filled torte. Pinch the edges to seal. Make several slits in the top crust to allow steam to escape. Optionally, sprinkle sesame seeds on top for extra flavor.

Prepare Egg Mixture: In a bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Pour this mixture over the torte, allowing it to seep into the layers.

Bake the Torte: Place the springform pan on a baking sheet (to catch any drips) and bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the crust is golden and the filling is set.

Cool and Serve: Let the torte cool for about 10 minutes before removing it from the springform pan. Slice into wedges and serve with fresh lettuce and tomato slices for garnish.
