Ingredients

1 cup rolled oats

1 ½ cups milk (dairy or non-dairy)

2 tablespoons brown sugar (or to taste)

1 tablespoon chia seeds

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

½ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Pinch of salt

Toppings: sliced bananas, nuts, dried fruits, a drizzle of maple syrup, or extra brown sugar

Instructions

In a mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, chia seeds, brown sugar, ground cinnamon, and salt.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and vanilla extract until smooth.

Slowly pour the milk mixture into the dry ingredients and stir well to ensure everything is fully incorporated.

Divide the oat mixture into jars or airtight containers, covering them tightly.

Place the containers in the refrigerator and let them sit overnight (or at least 4 hours) to allow the oats to absorb the liquid and flavors.

In the morning, give the oats a good stir. If the mixture is too thick, add a splash of milk to loosen it up.

Serve the oats in bowls or enjoy straight from the jars. Top with your favorite toppings such as sliced bananas, a sprinkle of nuts, dried fruits, or a drizzle of maple syrup.
